As many of you already know, I was accepted on The World Race back in April. The Lord has definitely been at work in my heart and life over the past five months. Over the summer break, I went through some serious doubting and discouragement. I can attribute it to a combination of my own perfectionism/pride and my error of listening to lies the enemy was using to distract me from why I had started. In the past month, the Lord has been encouraging me with Truth from His Word. Truth that says, “I am with you to the end of the age” or “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. Also Truth that whispers to my heart, “Seek first my kingdom and ALL will be added to you” or “My strength is sufficient, my power is made perfect in weakness”. One Truth the Holy Spirit brought to my mind most recently is that “we have been seated with Him in heavenly places…” This Truth is the same passage the Lord prompted me to share with a local church in Thailand last year. One Thai Church member came up to me and said thank you for my sharing of those very words. I could see in her eyes how much those words meant to her soul that Lord’s day. Okay, Lord, speak more, I’m listening. Yes, Lauren, He tells me. I want you to tell more people like that woman, all around the world, that they, too, “can be seated with Him in heavenly places”.
This is why I started. To give people the Only Hope I have. To share the Good News of salvation with those who do not know that they can be co-heirs with Christ and have access to all they need for life and godliness. To know that in Him they can be made new creations and experience freedom. Freedom from fear. Freedom from sin. Freedom from themselves. Freedom to make others free.
That is why I started.
