“Livin’ on a prayer…” What a great song, and (I feel) so appropriate for this blog. April 1st officially marked the halfway point for me and my apprenticeship at Adventures in Missions. It’s kind of hard to believe I’m already halfway through my time here. I’ve come to realize that time never slows down, in fact I feel that it only speeds up the older I get. So carpe diem, right?

I thought it might be nice to update you on my life and what’s been going on! I think it’s safe to say that at first, when I arrived at AIM in January, I was like a deer in headlights. I questioned if moving to Georgia only 6 weeks after returning from the Race was actually a smart choice. However, slowly but surely, I started settling in and I was making new friends and finding my way around. Those uneasy feelings started to fade.

Since being with AIM, I’ve continued to learn more about myself, while sharing my story with many more eager young adults. Our recruiting team has been to nearly twenty events so far, where we’ve shared about our World Race and Real Life trips. We’ve shared over coffee dates and in random lunch rooms. My job has blessed me ten-fold because of the amazing people I meet.

I thank God for all the opportunities I’ve already had while being in Georgia. Just two weeks ago we had the amazing opportunity to partner with Invisible Children to share about the injustices that occur in Africa, specifically Uganda, Sudan and the Congo. And I thank God for those opportunities. I’ve also had the opportunity to go to several conferences to share with students who are mission minded and wanting to make an impact in their lifetime.

Being here at AIM has also opened more doors to leading this summer in Guatemala. Myself, along with two other leaders will be taking 12 high school students to serve in San Padro, Guatemala for three weeks and I CANNOT WAIT!

Lastly, being at AIM is also allowing me to try my hand at something new. I will be getting more involved in our marketing department for the remaining three months of my apprenticeship. Since colleges are finishing up their spring semesters, there will be less traveling for us recruiters, and so I will be making the transition to work with our lovely marketing department. I’m very excited for this opportunity and know that I will learn many new things and be stretched in new ways. I appreciate your prayers and will keep you posted on my life’s happenings! Blessings!

And just to recap here are my prayer requests:
1) My support to come in (in need of $3,000)
2) Transitions at work
3) Leading this summer

4) Guidance for what’s next…

Also, my family came to visit. [YEAH] So enjoy these few pics from their visit:
