(Alright, weird name for a blog, I know, but I know it’s a book about CHANGE, which I haven’t read, but I bet it’s good…and now that I’ve got your attention…)
So about those transitions I mentioned…

First of all, THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS. I know that my team and I are constantly being lifted up in prayer and that our ministry would not be possible without them, so thank you. Second of all, my team has completely changed. I am now on an all girls team: Team Fullness of One (or “FOO” as I like to call us). Leisa Schlichting is our fearless leader. She and I connected back at training camp when I originally found out we were leaders for all girls teams. She is a great woman of God and I have a lot to learn from her. She’s got a spunky personality that draws people to her instantly. I feel blessed to be under her leadership, but more importantly to call her my friend. The rest of my team consists of: Hannah, Jeanne, Kristen, Keet, & Casondra. Some of you may remember one of my blogs from earlier this month about Kristen really being there for me, so it’s amazing that we are now on the same team and have a chance to get to know each other so much better. I’m truly excited to get to know all these ladies over these upcoming months as we serve together. I know God has placed us together for a reason. I felt that I was supposed to be on an all-girls team at some point on this race, and that time is now. I especially felt that call after training camp ended. I know that being on an all-girls team will allow us to do different things than other teams and we will be used in mighty ways!

Team “Foo” (we may have all bought Ray Ban’s from the gentlemen at the bus stop…)

Our ministry this month was supposed to be teaching English to local university students, but God had other plans once we arrived in Cambodia. My team and I are working in Siem Reap with girls who have been involved in the sex trafficing industry. They range in age anywhere from 13-19 years old, yes, 13. Pray for strength for my team and that we are able to connect with these girls and show them God’s love. Because of the nature of what we are doing, I will not be posting pictures or using the girls’ real names as I start to share stories, but your prayers are still needed just the same.

                     …

So you may be wondering what happened to my old team. Well, Noe was appointed as one of the three Squad Leaders and therefore left the team. Megan is now leading the team, which I saw this call on her life back in Australia and know that she will be used in mighty ways over the upcoming months. Since Noe and I left the team, Jonathan and Nicole were added to the team. It’s sad to no longer be with them, but I also look forward in anticipation of how God will use them as a new family and I look forward to seeing my new team of seven bond and serve together as well. All in God’s plans…

You may also be wondering who else is squad leading with Noe. Well, let me tell you…drum roll please…my dear friend Liz Norris and Mike Schuerman (pray for him as he is getting over kidney stones and has been in the hospital for the past 4 days). We are fortunate enough to have three squad leaders who have been called to lead us our remaining seven months. I couldn’t have been more excited for them. I cried when they were announced because I know God has been working in their lives to prepare them for this and that He is also going to teach them so much as they lead our squad. These three people hold special places in my heart and I couldn’t be more excited for them. God is going to use them instrumentally in all our lives as He is working in theirs–I cannot wait to see the results! So if you think about it, could you pray for Noe, Mike & Liz as they step into this new leadership role?

Blessings until next time!

*Side note about Cambodia…they have PINEAPPLE FANTA, which I haven’t had since my time in South Africa in 2005. Pretty excited about that and I may have even bought a 6 pack…

M Squad together in the Philippines! Yup, these are the people with whom I live & serve this year…
