It’s the day for which I’ve been waiting; IT’S LAUNCH DAY!
This begins the kickoff of the journey! Well, to be honest, my journey for this Race began nine months ago when I told the LORD I would travel the world with Him by my side. And He really is by my side. I’ve had to remind myself of that a lot lately. He called me to this Race and He won’t leave me to pick myself up when He knows I can’t do it.
It’s so easy to forget that we do this thing called life with Someone walking step-by-step, hand-in-hand with us. God told Joshua and the Israelites before they were allowed into the Promised Land, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deut. 31:6)
The LORD has already been to every place my squad and I will go. He goes before us, and He goes behind us. He will be with us!
I’ll be spending the next couple of days traveling 8,127 miles; over stretches of land, and expanses of ocean! First stop: Cape Town, South Africa. Six out of the seven teams on my squad will be doing sports ministry at Kingdom Sports in Cape Town. The other team will be in Pretoria, South Africa, working at an orphanage. Please pray that the LORD gives us ample opportunities to tell people about His abounding love and grace. Pray that our teams stay safe and healthy! Above all, pray that His will be done.
And now, friends and family, as my squad and I launch off into the field, I know our great God is booming to us,
“GO.”
