Santo Domingo

man oh man, what a week it has been. We got to the compund in the early afternoon on monday, and it has already been a crazy fun adventure since then!! Our entire squad is together for our launch staying in this compound down here in Santo Domingo, bunking it dorm style. The first thing we got to do once we got settled in, was go as teams into the city, find internet and post a blog letting everyone know we made it safe (my last one) and buy our breakfast and lunch for the following two days. Seeing the city was a trip. heck, driving into the city was a trip. there are no apparent traffic rules lanes or regulations and it is a literal free for all lol. Through out the week, we have made friends with a group of twenty-something dominicans who rapped and sang for us and who are our new friends, had a block party  and dancing with another team on this little side street with a whole bunch of kids and adults, and been out and about quite a bit.

 

then today we had adventure day, and the whole squad got taken to the beautiful beach for a couple hours. seriously SOOOOO beautiful!!!!!! aaaahhhhh!!!!!!

 

tomorrow we officially spread out to do our various ministries. 4 of us are going to haiti for the first month and the other 7 teams are going to various parts of the DR. My team and I are going a lil ways out of port au prince, and going to a rural village to truly camp and rough it and serve with an orphanage!! soooo excited!!! this is about to be crazy. It is so amazing what God has already done, and this is just the launch week!!!
