One thing I especially love about the World Race is that we are able to hear stories from the people we ministered to and with even after we leave. We build strong relationships with our contacts and receive updates on friends. Yesterday, I got an update from Mark Biddell, our contact from S.H.E. Ministries in Phuket, Thailand. He told us about our friend Add who has come upon some exceptionally hard times. Please read this letter from Mark. If you feel the Lord laying it on your heart to help, please contact him at his email found at the bottom of the page.

[Add getting pampered by some members of the January 07 team]
Dear all,
I am writing because I know you all have met or know Add and the family well.
Add has been facing more than her usual difficulties and now finds her self without any income and none on the horizon either. Add had to let go of the children she minded before Christmas because her mother passed away and she had to return home for the funeral. Funerals in Thailand go on for a number of days and with the travelling the family was away for 10 days
We have been looking into what she could do to provide for her family and we have come up with an idea. Add used to sell food by the road side and so still has some equipment and an old food stall (you may remember seeing it out side her home without wheels on). We have found a place to rent where she can set this stall up by the road side and also set out a few tables for customers. This plot is within walking distance from her home so transport will not be an issue for Add. We will help fix up the stall and also help by setting up the other things associated with her new business such as cook ware, table ware and the initial food supplies. The cost of this will be approximately £150 – £200 ($300-$400).
We feel the best way to help Add in this instance and give her some ownership would be to give her the money as an interest free micro-loan where she would pay this back by a very small amount every month as things start to go well with the new business. This type of giving has been very successful in the past. We can then use the funds again to help others in need. Add has enlisted the help of one of her neighbours, a mother of 3 called Fon who again does not have any reliable income so the project would be helping 2 families.
Can I ask that you pray for Add, Bee, Nom Nem, Fon and her family that this project will lift the burdens that they face and if you feel you are able to help in any way by partnering with them financially in this project then please contact me.
Blessings
Mark
