A pet llama, a king size bed, and 22 of the neatest children to ever step into my life!
So after a long a 7 hour flight and a 30 minute layover in Panama, I have arrived to one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Latacunga, Ecuador. The place I am at is Hogar para sus ninos that is located between two volcanoes, one that is currently sparking lava and the large one is a couple weeks from erupting so hopefully we will not be here for that! A nestled two floor house filled with lots of love is where I am staying! There are 22 children, countless tias (caregivers) that give love and compassion to each child everyday. Everyday is a blessing and everyday is challenging for sure! I love these children so much! if I could put into words the amount of love i can feel as i enter a room, i would! whether i am working with severe needs, to just basic special needs, or the other children with no special needs…they are full of so much joy! I have so much fun taking children out of wheelchairs and visiting the llama or the fountain or jumping on the trampoline for hours! Ah, these kids are changing my life! so many stories and walks of lives. I know this is a passion of mine and being here I have so much room to be me and love on children who I have no family! Team favoured is being blessed everyday for sure and being apart of this orphanage has blessed me and made me beyond thankful!
I am currently playing with children and participating in the school program they have here! Also helping with random chores around the house! I am also getting to know the tias really well and teaching them English as they teach me Spanish! Ah, I wish I had paid more attention in Ms. Collins Spanish class! God is good and overcomes all language barriers everyday! It has been incredible to see God use me and these children put a smile on my face everyday!
Thanks for all your prayers and support! Remember if you want to support me, there is this button on the left side of page saying support me!!! I am at about $9,600!!! :)Â
