I wrote a couple months ago about life being a series of peaks and valleys, mountaintop experiences and low blows.  For me, the past few weeks have been downers.  Not that happy things haven’t happened–they have!–but sometimes it’s hard to focus on the good when things get tough.

Please bear with me as I share some of the highlights:

~My dog has had two seizures in the past 24 hours.  She’s okay now, but it’s awful watching her suffer and feeling completely helpless.  She’s still our miracle girl, but it’s hard to face the fact that she’s getting old.
~I’ve been having a lot of trouble sleeping.  I wake up several times during the night, and sometimes I hear noises or have dreams that scare me, which makes it even harder to get back to sleep.
~I’m a little concerned about financial support for my trafficking trip.  This is my first experience asking for so much money, and let’s just say there are definitely positive and negative aspects of support raising!

BUT the bottom line is:  No matter how bad I think my day is, it can’t compare to the day millions of girls are enduring around the world.  Girls who have been tricked, taken from their homes, and forced to entertain ten, even twenty customers a night.  Girls who are scared, broken, and uncertain about the future.  Girls who have given up.  Girls without homes.  Girls without hope.

So I can’t really complain.

In January, I’m traveling to Cambodia, Thailand, India, and Atlanta, Georgia, to meet these girls face to face.  To hear their stories.  To look into their eyes and tell them they matter.  To remind them it’s not their fault.  To share the light of Christ.  To bring hope.

But I need your help.  Because those girls exist.  And they need your help.

In this season of giving and goodwill, please consider supporting me.  What could mean more than the gift of freedom to a young girl?

I need about $3,200 more to reach my goal.  Anyone who knows me knows that I hate asking for help!  But you know what else?  Those girls are worth it.

Please consider donating to my cause and giving the gift of a second chance at life.  Even a few dollars would make a huge difference!  Really.  And tell your friends!  Join together to make a donation!  It’s easy.  Just click on the Support Me! link on the left side of this page, send me a check, or pool your cash and give it to me in person.  Like I said, every little bit helps!  Please don’t hesitate to talk to me or ask questions.  I’d love to get coffee and chat with you about what I’ll be doing!  After all, I’m traveling abroad as a representative of the God you and I both serve, and I can’t do it without your help.

Also, I have prayer cards!  A dear friend of mine designed them for me.  🙂  If you would like one to put on your frig or in your Bible or wherever it will best remind you to pray, please let me know!  Peace.
