When asked what Training Camp was like for the World Race, you may get a few responses like: fat camp, lessons in what it’s like to be pregnant, Christian hazing, etc.

All jokes aside though, when asked to describe TC, it can be summed up in one word: FREEDOM.

This week was just a taste of Heaven come to Earth, and if this is a little bit of what that truly looks like, then I am stoked for the next year of my life and beyond that.

We started off as 5o some strangers from all walks of life, and soon turned into family who were fighting for each other and calling each other up into the fullness of what Christ has for us.  We broke chains of the past and let freedom reign. We declared truths over our lives. We shattered the box we allowed ourselves to put our big and mighty God in. People were healed, gifts came alive, the Holy Spirit filled the camp and people stepped up into who the Lord claims they are. We are each an intricate and unique part of the whole that will go out and shake the world. The beauty of it is that God doesn’t need us…but He chose us.

We are ready to have a messy faith. The truth of the gospel is that it is both beautiful and offensive. Jesus was in the business of ruffling some feathers, and we should be too. Jesus is not confined to four walls and a scheduled bulletin. His message is messy and His truth is ALIVE.  The Bible is not just for “back then,” but rather, it is the living, breathing truth of God.

This week was physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually exhausting. I can’t imagine what a year of this is going to be like. I am ready to take it on with all 50-some of my new friends. I am ready to bring heaven to Earth.

On that note, meet my new team:

This is team Kina. We chose this name because it means “deep” or “depths” in Swahili. We all felt as though that’s what this next year is about. Going deeper with the Lord and allowing Him to wreck us and use us to build up His Kingdom. He’s already moving in a mighty way, and we are excited and ready for what’s to come! Please pray for us as we leave in July: Haley, Kenzie, Me, Erica, Eddie, Chad and EJ.

(Ps- if you want to know more details about TC, please ask! I have so many amazing stories to tell of how the Lord is moving!)
