Livingstone, Zambia
A few days ago we met together and decided we wanted to spend our first full day in Zambia fasting and worshiping together. Every meal today was a time for prayer and worship; we ate well!
For breakfast, we sang to worship music and prayed over our day and the coming month. It was a perfect start to the day and the Spirit bound us together in unity.
Worshiping together as a team
My corporate worship time is usually spent writing out my prayers.
For lunch, we prayed over our month individually. Some sat in silence for the allotted time, some had headphones on and listened to music- our aim was to individually hear from the Lord and come together afterward to see what common themes were brought up. God showed up.
As we talked, a couple themes did emerge:
Consistency. It’s on our hearts to make connections soon and then pour as much as we can into those connections. We would love to connect with a church that we can regularly attend as well.
Freedom. My squad leader Erinn felt the Lord telling her that He trusts us; that we are actively walking with Him and He trusts us to take the first step in regards to what ministry this month will look like. As we live life in Zambia, He is going to fling open doors in front of us, regardless of what we decide to do from day to day. I got the word that we need to “trust and obey”- trust that He is going to prompt us to move and obey when He prompts.
After lunch, we walked around town, exploring and making some connections.
Walking through town- I love it here!
We are excited for how many people we got to meet and talk with. We met a man named Lenard, a man from a nearby village who comes into town once a month to sell souvenirs. He knew about the Race- he told us that a year ago he met a Race team and they built a soccer field (which we are checking out tomorrow!)
Meeting our friend, Lenard.
For dinner, we sang and prayed again with a spirit of thankfulness for everything God did today and how He is going to move this month.
It was an amazing first day- God is so good!
Night!
