Livingstone, Zambia

Hello from Zambia! We arrived in Livingstone about 5 hours ago. We had the shortest travel day ever, distance-wise (only about 20 kilometers, just across the boarder from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe) but it took all day, due to some mix-ups with the bus company.

However, we are here now and LOVING IT! God gives good gifts- including our awesome home for the month!

The common living/dining room of our AWESOME (in budget, $5 a night) hostel! Also- free coffee from 7 AM- 5 PM plus free pancakes every day at 3 PM. #spoiled #iliveherenow

The team I was with last month has been split in half (all the men of the squad have a month together) and two lovely ladies from team Salty and Bright, along with a raised-up squad leader, have joined us.

This month is going to look much different than any other month so far: we are host-less. Typically, we would be partnering with an established ministry but this month we are spending our days intentionally going to the Lord each day and asking Him what He has for us to do (in AIM-speak, our ministry is ATL- ask the Lord).

As I was praying over this month earlier today, the Lord gave me a picture of a black and white Google map street view of Livingstone. Suddenly, the map was covered in bright highlighted routes. God told me He had already gone before us and He has routes already mapped out- so no worries, He is in control of our steps if we allow Him to work through us!

In that same spirit, we have planned to spend tomorrow fasting and praying over the month. I know God is going to do amazing things in us and through us; I look forward to this month 6 as a pivotal month, midway through my Race, filled with the potential for momentum that will propel me into the “greater things” God has planned for the rest of my life.

This month, everything is stripped away and we are headed back to the basics: it’s all about saying, “YES!”

Affectionately yours,
L
