Dear Friends,

Well, the second financial deadline is tonight, for $7500. I am still about $900 short, after adding up the money that I’ve earned and the gifts that friends, family, and strangers have so generously donated. I’m so thankful for those who have given!! It blows my mind every single time someone offers to donate.

My amazing squad put together a 24 hour prayer watch, where everyone signed up for time slots to pray for our squad, and specifically those who haven’t yet reached the financial deadline. We’ve seen amazing results! But the truth is, now that we’ve reached the deadline, there’s nothing else I can do but wait and see what the Lord has up His sleeve.

But even as I wait, I am not sad…I am not despairing…I am not angry…I am not stressed. I am joyful! Because the more I have had to rely on God, the more He has blessed me. To have a team that is willing to wake up at 3 am in order to pray for me is a level of commitment and love I have never experienced, and I am so thankful! I am reminded that there is joy in Christ. He is present in every circumstance, and so it follows that there is joy in every circumstance, whether or not it makes logical sense. In prayer I am joyful. In this family of brothers and sisters I am joyful. In opportunities to give to others I am joyful. In opportunities to receive from others I am joyful. And in waiting? I am joyful.

He brings joy! Remember to hold fast to Him, for He will never forget or forsake you.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

In Christ’s love,
Laura
