Debrief &  Mozambique

Debrief

My team headed from Blantyre, Malawi to Lilongwe, Malawi, about a 4 hour trip, to join our P Squad for debrief. Debrief is a time for our squad to spend a few days with each other catching up, hearing from our squad leaders Josh and Lia, coaches (Chuck and Selena Day) and Michael and Kathy Hindes.

It was a wonderful few days at Mabuya Camp a backpackers lodge in Lilongwe. Walking distance of food shops, amazing staff, great cooks who changed their menu to fit our budgets, an insane avocado sandwich and they even had a large swimming pool! I highly recommend it! It was a piece of Heaven on earth and a needed “vacation.

Though I did have to make a trip to the dentist, yes an African dentist…

Lol, It really was a nice building with great staff and Will, from my squad, made my day by going with me and keeping me laughing. 2 filled cavities later I was pain free again!

Mozambique

That’s right! My team is now in Mozambique for the month! (Team Last Place is working with us too)We are staying in a small village and working at quite a few different things.

Here are the key points of ministry this month-

– Praying for and providing goods for local widows and orphans

– Preaching and Praying at Hospitals and prisons

– 2 day Crusades at remote villages working alongside pastors there

– Bible studies for local orphans

– Reaching out to orphans outside of our village

-Bible Studies for widows

The organization is small but has been blessed with support. We are the 12th World Race team to be here since 2008. Mama Rita, Peter and his wife Sheila run it and have a huge heart to see orphans taken care of.

Please keep us and this wonderful ministry in your prayers this month. Also, next month is our Ask The Lord month where we pray about where to go and what to do. My team seems to have a heart for  Cape Town, South Africa please keep us in prayer as we follow where God is leading us.

Internet is scarce but I will try to keep you as up to date as I can!

Many blessings and thanks to all,

Laura
