Love Encounters Malawi
As our time here in Malawi is coming to an end I find myself reflecting on the past month. We were extremely blessed to be living with Loma and her family. They truly show us the love of God and are constantly blessing us.

Whether it’s amazing meals everyday, a bed to sleep in, showers, and oh yes, the Disney channel (which my team loves), it gives us all a glimpse of our homes which we greatly miss.
Great is God International Ministries were “greatâ€ to  work with. They have a deep passion to see Malawi hear the word of God even in the most remote locations. Each member has a fulltime job and the crusades are all done in their spare time. They have weekly prayer meetings and hike up to the top of a mountain to pray whenever they can. It was amazing to hike there with them and it was incredible to have some personal time with God on top of a mountain in Africa! They have kind, giving hearts that  pour out without asking for anything in return. They have deep faith and a longing to serve God in all they do. I pray that they are blessed 100 fold for what they’ve given us.

It hasn’t been an easy month for me with losing Anne and being tired and homesick but God’s given me rest at Loma’s, and the bottom of an empty pool, that has meant so much to me.
One of my favorite ministries this month was teaching English to standard 1 students at a village school in the middle of the desert. The children were between the ages 4-8 and it was very general stuff like, How are you?

I loved the kids but my favorite part of the day was the well. The village well was dug in 2003 by some amazing people who I have no idea who they are.  I had always heard about digging wells in Africa and now I know how deeply important they are. 85 percent of every creek and river I saw in Malawi is totally dried up and these wells provide clean, safe drinking water to hundreds. There is about one well in each village.  It was one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen watching the children crowd around the well and receive the life giving water it brings.

Please keep these villages in prayer that they may also see and know the amazing life giving water that the Lord brings.

I’m off to squad debrief then to a mystery location!
Please keep praying for us and check back soon for another blog!
