As many of you guys know I’m not a writer! So, here is my best attempt at pretending to be one! I promise not all of them will be this long!! SO please read until the end! If you’d like to read about my World Race journey so far.. here it is!

The first step for me was a heart change. God has been preparing me for this moment far longer than I knew it. I think back to a very specific moment in time when he started changing me for the better.

Sometimes the world says it’s not okay to have big dreams and a lot of passions, and sometimes I listen. Sometimes I let my thoughts dwell on the negative such as: people’s thoughts about my dream, if it’s a logical goal or not, and if it seems impossible to reach. Quite honestly, sometimes if it’s just a lot of work I give up. Sometimes my thoughts dwell; dwell on the bad, dwell on the “what ifs”, dwell on possible failure, dwell on fear.

Dwell: to think, speak, or write at length about (a particular subject, especially one that is a source of unhappiness, anxiety, or dissatisfaction).

If I defined dwell it would be:

1.To waste away on trying to achieve worldly acceptance
2.To choose to think about people telling you that you can’t or you shouldn’t dream instead of seeking the very One who gave you those dreams
3.To change your mindset from actively seeking and pursuing the path that’s been carefully made out for you to seeking the approval of man, not the One who created man

To dwell.. is to be in constant worry. To dwell.. is to be preoccupied by the things that the enemy is trying to capture your thoughts with. To dwell.. is to run in the opposite direction from God. (God is ever-present, so to do this is impossible but to feel this way is a very real thing.) To dwell is to limit God’s power.

Then one day God spoke to me a realization that would prepare my heart to say YES to the World Race:

GOD LOVES BIG DREAMS. Big dreams mean big faith. Big dreams mean you’re not limiting God’s power. God smiles when we, His little prized possessions, believe that He IS overly capable of our wildest dreams.. which leads me to the second step in my journey!

I sent in my application as a blind step of obedience. The next week after I had sent it in I was talking with God about the race and I simply asked Him to basically scream an answer at me. To speak to me in a clear, obvious, and mighty way. One that I would know 100% without a doubt what to do, and that’s just what He did. Let me tell ya about it!

My friend had asked me if I wanted to go to a church service with her on a Tuesday night. It just so happened to work out perfectly for me to go this exact week.

There are a few things that God does to get my attention, to let me know He is here, and to let me know that He hears my cry. Well, He did that this night.

#1. The song “Ever Be” is a precious communication tool between me and my heavenly Father. It just so happened that this night, “Ever Be” was the 1st worship song. So, that was His way of getting my attention; His way of telling me to keep my heart attuned to Him and get ready!

#2. The Prodigal son sermon is another example of what i explained above. I bet you can guess what the sermon was that night!

#3. After the invitation that night, we were standing to worship when the pastor came out on stage and said, “I feel like there is someone here tonight who needs to hear this.” He proceeded to talk about a specific situation that was heavy on my heart and had been for a while. About this time I feel a hand on my back. After the service came to a close, I turned around to an unfamiliar face and a person that wrapped me in a big bear hug. I don’t know this girl, but we’re both crying. We finally calmed down, and she said to me, “The Lord spoke to me tonight about your life, and He wants you to know that He is here and He hears you and your concerns.” She told me that even though I didn’t feel like I was getting anywhere in the forgiveness process about this specific situation (I have never met this girl and she knew specific details of what was going on in my life), she said, “The Lord want you to know that He is slowly breaking those chains.” WOW. Then as if that’s not cool enough, she leans back in and saids, “Do you have a heart for missions?” At this point I’m currently FREAKING OUT. She said, “God is speaking to me that He knows you aren’t anywhere near being there financially, but HE WILL PROVIDE.”

I think it’s safe to say that that was a big YES.

The Lord has continued to show me and guide me on the path that is the World Race! If any of you guys would ever like to hear more about my journey, I’d love to get together and talk and tell you more about it!

I would LOVE for y’all to subscribe to my blog post and support me through prayer!!! I’m going to need a lot of prayer, and so is my team! I ask that you pray for our eyes and hearts to be open to what the Lord is doing in our lives! I ask that you pray for our safety as we travel from country to country. I ask that you pray for the hearts that we will share our faith with, and I ask that you pray and see if the Lord would have you help me financially!

So, whatever it is: dream it and proudly pursue it! God will lead you. God is leading you. Now, you only have to boldly accept the call, and the rest will fall into perfect rhythm with God.
