Dear: Mr. and Mrs. Riggs,
I am so sorry to hear about all of the difficult times you are going
through. It is very tough for you, I know, and especially with Robby not
being there. Thank-you for allowing him to continue on this journey with
us, he is such an important part of our squad. I know it was his decision, but
I just want you to know that we are grateful that he is with us, and that he is
a constant encouragement and light to us on the squad. All of the tragedy
you have been facing has affected him greatly and he misses you and Donny very
much. Last night he called you his heroes, and shared with us how much he
wants to be a help and encouragement to you. We have all been praying for
you, and we will continue to pray for you throughout the trails that you
continue to face.
As a group
we prayed for your family last night, and during that time this verse came to
me:
Romans 8:28 We know that in
everything God works for the good of those who love him.
This verse has been a lot of
encouragement to me this year, knowing that no matter what comes our way God is
going to use it for good. Even if God
didn’t want it to happen to us, He can use our situations and bring good from
them. I don’t know what God is going to
do through you because of these times, but I do know that He is a God who keeps
His promises and He has promised good things from EVERY situation for those who
love Him.
Isaiah 41:10, 1 Peter 5:7 and Philippians 4:6 all remind us
not to worry.
Isaiah 41:10 So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help
you. I will support you with me right
hand that saves you.
1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries to Him because He cares for you
Philippians 4:6 Do not worry about anything, instead pray and ask God
for everything you need, always giving thanks.
Remember that God is with you, at
all times. His right hand is supporting
you, He is giving you the strength that you need. When you are weak, that is when He is strong. Allow Him to be your strength at this
time. Lean on each other, and together
rest in God’s arms. Allow His peace that
passes understanding to wash over you so that His joy may shine through you,
and you can be a light to others.
I encourage you to pray together
each morning, so that you can strengthen your relationship with one another,
and invite God to be a part of the day.
Pray together for God’s peace, love and comfort to guide you throughout
each day. Those who pray together, stay
together. This is a battle you cannot do
alone, so I encourage you to join in unity with one another, and with God so
that at the end of the day you will be victorious. Pray that:
God will strengthen you with His own great
power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be
patient. Colossians 1:11
There are many reasons that God
allows suffering, and I am not sure of why you have taken so many hits these
past few months. I do know that God
promises in Psalm 46:1 to ALWAYS help in times of trouble, that He is our
protection and strength. I also know
that it gives us insight to our suffering in 2 Corinthians.
2 Corinthians 1:4-5 He comforts
us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble we can comfort them
with the same comfort that God gives us. We share in the sufferings of Christ,
in the same way much comfort comes to us through Christ.
Be encouraged that you will be able
to use this time to do God’s work later.
He will use you to be a comfort to others, as He has been a comfort to you
at this time. Rely on God to be your
tower of refuge, and trust in Him to bring you to the other side of these
trials. Your faith is being tested and I
encourage you to stand up to the test, and stand strong. Come out of this victorious, and proud of the
way you handled each day. God is the God
of miracles, as you know because Donny is still with you. God can continue to miraculously heal Donny,
heal your family, and continue to provide you with your daily bread as He has
always done.
We are all praying for you, we all
love you because of the great things Robby has told us about you, and the man
you have raised him to be is a testament to the wonderful people that you
are. You will continue to be in my prayers.
With love,
Laura
Lord,
I ask that you bring peace and
unity into the Riggs family. Bring them
closer together in these tough times.
Give them your supernatural strength to carry them through. Allow them to see victory- your victory- in
the healing of Donny, and through your provision of continued employment for
Mr. Riggs.
Give Robby peace knowing that his
family is in your hands. Allow them each
to lay their concerns and worries at your feet, so that they are not burdened
with them any longer. I trust you to
keep working in them and that through these situations you will be able to work
through them.
Give you encouragement to Donny, block out any
voices of discouragement and anger that he is hearing. Allow him to hear your voice speaking clearly
to him words of love. Put within him
your deep joy and motivation so that he can continue on this road of recovery,
that you would teach him things during this time that can come no other
way. Minimize the pain he feels, and
bring healing to his body quickly.
Thank-you for all of the incredible
things that you are going to do through the Riggs family because of these
trials they have faced. Again I ask that
you pour out your comfort and peace on them, that you draw them together in
unity and that you continue to provide for their every need. You are all that we need.
In your name, Jesus, Amen
