Tomorrow is Monday.

A big part of me is dreading my alarm clock in the morning. Mondays mean responsibility, deadlines, PEOPLE, etc.

But, there’s something different about this particular Monday. Tomorrow starts my last week of work! School is finally coming to a close, so I’ll be hastily grading essays and exams, and then I’ll be making my way down to the beautiful beaches of the Florida Gulf Coast! You don’t even KNOW how excited I am for this vacation and the end of this school year. HALLELUJAH

Then I feel this sudden PANG, and a feeling of unrest shrouds my thoughts.

“I am really leaving this place? These coworkers? This job that I’m finally getting both feet under? These kids! All of them such challenges and joys in their own way. What are you gonna do without this school? You know you’re never gonna find a place like this again, don’t you? This is it. This was the best, and now you’re leaving and who knows what is in your future.”

And just like that, I have turned my face away from the light. Did you catch it? Did you see the progression? It’s so easy to live our lives without remembering what’s inside. Not living each day knowing that the power of the resurrection is within us. That same power that conquered Death forever is stirring inside me. This week I can predict will be chaotic, stressful, emotional, exhausting, and frustrating. Many things will be accomplished, annnnnnd a few might get pushed to the side. But whatever the case, I choose to dwell is His presence and depend on His power. With that, Monday (and the whole week, for that matter!) doesn’t stand a chance!

P.s. God is so good. That’s really all I can say. Right now, I am 77% fully funded!! Over $12, 400 has been donated to my trip. For the past month, I have been leaving fundraising up to God as I finish up teaching, and He has taken my request and multiplied it! I kinda feel like the boy with two loaves and five fish. God can take anything and do wonders to accomplish His purpose!

Please continue to pray for me as I further prepare for this trip (SHOTS … eeeeek!) and begin to gather my supplies!
