“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.”
(2 Corinthians 3:18)
At the beginning of this month leadership asked me to step into the role of team leader for a brand new team of amazing ladies. I said “YES!” with not a moment of hesitation. I can’t begin to tell you how honored I am to have the opportunity to serve my new team in this way. I also have deep assurance that I am equipped to be doing what I am doing now and humbled that one year ago, I wouldn’t have been ready for this. But He knew I’d be here this whole time with a newfound confidence in Him and love for who He made me to be that I’ve never had before.
Our team of 6 ladies picked a very fitting name for our new team…Team Glory to Glory.
At the beginning of the month, after we were established as a team and had our name picked, I was listening to a sermon by Bill Johnson. He told of a time when He was worshipping and praising the Lord. He then had a vision of holding in his hands a crown that he was to give to Jesus. The crown was pure gold and had a mirror-like finish. He pulled His hands away from the crown, after giving it to Jesus and noticed that He had left dirty fingerprints and smudges all across the crown. He felt devastated and angry at how His “dirt” ruined something that should have been perfect when given to the King of Kings. Then, he looked back up and saw that each fingerprint and smudge turned to a decorative gem on the crown.
The message is simple, what we view in our lives as dirty and unworthy, He can use for His glory. It doesn’t matter what it is, how big the problem, how severe the issue. As children of light, we must choose HIS perspective. We must not despair but receive the strength He so graciously gives us to move forward and bless Him anyways.
As a team, we are walking in the truth that we are being transformed into His image one step at a time. We also acknowledge that who we are right now is good and that He delights in us. And when things get rough, we know that His strength is made perfect in our weakness as we go from glory to glory.
