Let's get right down to it…

I SWITCHED ROUTES!

I am now leaving in September instead of July!
Here is my new route…

RWANDA
UGANDA
KENYA
CHINA
PHILIPPINES
THAILAND
CAMBODIA
INDIA
NEPAL
ROMANIA
UKRAINE

So, why did I switch routes? Well, it may just be that God origionally intended for me to be on this route 😉 When I first heard of the race back in July, and heard that you could leave in January, July, or September I immediately thought about leaving in July of 2013. Why? Well, here's some raw truth about me…sometimes I get so excited about something that I can be a little (ahem…a lot) impatient. The nations had been so ingrained on my heart that I just jumped at leaving in July and only because January seemed too soon (as if "too soon" to go to the nations was possible). I also had a huge heart for the countries on July's Route 4.
Then just before I was accepted a friend was praying for me and asked me, "If God asked you to leave in September instead of July, would you do it?" I honestly told God that I would but I begged Him not to. Again…a little impatient sometimes…workin' on it.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, after a lot of "workin'on it", I was reading blogs (like all good WR participants do) and I read a blog of a Racer who is preparing to leave this next September and she was sharing her route info. As I read down the list, "Rwanda…Uganda…Kenya….CHINA…" my heart was wrecked when I read that last one. China has been on my heart since I was in YWAM and heard that there are over 15 million orphans in China and since I read "The Heavenly Man" by Brother Yun about the rising up of the Body of Christ in China (if you haven't read it, I recommend doing so…).  I just absolutely love China and believe in all the good God is doing there and wants to do there. I have a dream of adopting as many Chinese babies as I can. So, I love China, and for the first time since my friend prayed that prayer, I considered switching Routes. Also, I have incredible peace about being here this summer…don't know what all God's gonna do, but I know it's going to be wonderful! So, after more prayer and asking others to pray, I switched routes and feel I am right where I am supposed to be!

So, that's the big news. I also have something else pretty incredible to report… I had my first fundraiser on Sunday and it was awesome! I had a silent auction, bake sale, and also sold some Christmas gifts. First of all, I am sooooo grateful for all the wonderful items donated to me for the event. I am so blown away with all the support I've been given. Altogether, 473 dollars was raised for my trip! Thank you to everyone who came out to support me! I am eternally grateful for your friendship and your generous hearts! If you weren't able to come but would still like to make a donation, I have 2 seperate accounts. One is with Adventures in Missions which covers travel, living expenses, and food. The other is a personal savings account where the money raised will go towards other necessities such as traveler's insurance and gear. To donate to the Adventure in Missions (AIM) account you can click on the "Support me" link on the left hand side of the page and follow the instructions. If you would like to donate to my personal savings account, you can email me at [email protected] and we'll go from there.

Thank you so much for reading! Don't forget you can subscribe to this blog and you will be notified when I've made an update. I Hope you are extravagantly blessed today!
