I know it’s been a while, two months to be exact, since I have graced the internet with a blog… well here it is!

BULGARIA

In Bulgaria my team worked with local youth. A big part of our ministry was playing volleyball each night. We pulled weeds and cleaned parks. You probably know that I am not much of a gardner but it was fun. We also went to some elderly homes where we danced, sang and loved the lonely.

The highlight in Bulgaria was hanging out with Rachel. Rachel is an American missionary who welcomed us into her home everyday to hang out, eat and use the espresso machine. Rachel lives away from home and was excited to have people she could relate and talk with. Her work ethic and compassion was outstanding.

Big Take Away: “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father” Colossians 3:17

ROMANIA

Romania was FUN! We spent the majority of the month with Belief in Motion. We bought food and fed the hungry, bought school supplies to give the poor and we ran a weekend camp for all sorts of kids. We also spent time with locals learning to cook.

Something that stood out to me was the work ethic of the missionaries. They really cared for us as people and they also cared for each other well.

The highlight was setting up and going to a wedding. This was something I wanted to do the entire race and it was amazing! We set up the brides yard and waited for the groom to come. The groom came walking down the street with a big band. The two fathers yelled at each other then traded wine. Ask me in person about this story!

Big Take Away: I learned how fragile life is and how much God really cares. If you didn’t know, I fell off a trailer while stomping hay. I walked away with a tiny bruise on my forehead and whip lash. Again another in person story ;). I shouldn’t have walked away with such a small injury but I did. This moment was a reminder of how fragile life is and how big God actually is.

So there it is. Also I am still not fully funded. I am only 450USD away so check your couch for change or donate a toonie, ANY amount is greatly appreciated. At this point I am a few months over the deadline but they have graciously allowed me to stay as long as I am actively working to raise the money. Thanks everyone!
