Hello Friends
I am safe in the Philippines and how great it has been, it would take pages to explain how amazing it is here. I couldn’t be more excited about all the wonderful things that are happening here at Camp New Beginnings.
The other day I had the privilege of making rain-sticks for their new church. Someone had donated some money to buy a piano and a guitar but there was no money for any drum equipment, so simple solution make something. Ehman (one of the boys our host disciples) helped me create and make this instrument. The whole time he kept looking at me as though it wasn’t going to work but he just kept serving and smiling. We talked about life and how he ended up working with the camp, his hobbies, favourite food and things he liked doing. When the instrument was finished I handed it to him to play and his only response was WOW, it was like he couldn’t believe he had created that. He continued to stare and turn it one way then the next, the only thing he continued to say was WOW. It was a very unique experience because the instrument wasn’t perfect but it was ours. Their amazing humility and care for their community is outstanding,these people continue to surpass any expectation.
