Over the past few days I've been researching and purchasing the gear and equipment I'll be taking on my mission trip. Since water showers will be a luxury and I have a full thick head of hair, I thought it would be best to begin thinking about ways to clean and/or maintain my hair without the conveniences of home. Dry shampoo was a popular option, but most are expensive and don't give too many treatments. One blog I read suggested using baby powder as an alternative. I awoke this morning with an itchy scalp and thought there was no better time than the present to test it out.

As with most things in life I usually err on the side of overdoing things 🙂 I think I used about 10 times more powder than necessary, and as such will be leaving a nice white cloud of powder behind me wherever I go today. On the bright side, the itching has subsided, and my hair is not greasy in the least. However, I do now resemble an 18th century politician. Perhaps I'll spend the day speaking with a British accent 🙂

James 1:2-4
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
