Community is messy.

Community is necessary.

Living in real/raw community is anything but pretty, but it’s the way God created us to live.

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

We can’t sharpen one another if we aren’t challenging and pushing against each other.

One of the best and hardest parts of the World Race is life in community.

I am very thankful and blessed to live in community with six other girls.

These girls love me, fight for me, cry with me, celebrate with me, pig out with me, laugh with me (a lot), drive me crazy, kill bugs/chase mice with me, cuddle with me, pray for me, point me toward Christ, and encourage me. They even sang Happy Birthday to my Daddy in February. How special is that??? I have to admit, it’s funny singing to someone in Heaven, but it made me feel so loved.

No, it isn’t always pretty. But it’s real. It’s love. I truly believe it’s how God intended community to be.

If you aren’t in community, you are missing out.

I’ve been living life with these girls for 3 months now—going on month 4. We know each other REALLLLY well, so I think it’s about time for you to meet them.

Here’s Team Mighty Love

Alena: Pennsylvania

Alena is a go-getter. She is going to go out of her way to help you in anyway you might need it. She is constantly inspiring me to continue to grow and change. She serves so selflessly and leads well! She has such a willing spirit! She is so much fun to be goofy with!

Fun Fact:

She can bring out her inner thug in .5 seconds, and it’s awesome.

Andie: Texas

Andie hears the voice of the Lord so clearly. She pushes me to grow in my spiritual gifts. She challenges me and loves me in such a sweet/special way. Some days, it even involved grabbing my face and speaking life into me followed by a kiss on the forehead. She’s also the bomb at making videos.

Fun Fact:

She has the coolest/cutest cheerleader jump. She’s basically a pro.

Chelle: Maryland

Chelle has extravagant faith. She pushes me to ask God for crazy things, and she believes with me that they will happen! She loves well and is an extremely talented artist.

Fun Fact:

EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT Chelle has laughing fits and bouts of energy that comes from who knows where? We love to watch it go down.

Jennie: South Carolina

Jennie loves well. She will always sit down to talk through things and love on me. She gives some good hugs. Jennie inspires me to grow and learn new things about God. There’s an easy way about Jennie that causes her to be able to talk to anyone. She has a way of making you feel comfortable and loved.

Fun Fact:

It’s always a blast to wait and tell her things to see her reaction! She also says Y’ALL before anything serious comes out of her mouth. My fellow Southern girl!

Jess: Maryland

Jess is loving, genuine, and has such a strong faith. She is pushing me to dig in and ask the Lord hard questions. She inspires me to grow deeper in the word and my identity. Not to mention, Jess has the voice of an angel. When she sings, atmospheres shift.

Fun Fact:

Jess literally thinks everything is funny. She makes you feel like the funniest person in the world, and you can’t help but laugh when she does.

Kristy: Trinidad/North Carolina

Kristy is our fearless leader. She has such wisdom and always knows what to say. She has spoken wisdom over us and fights for our team. She is a servant and so steady. She pushes us to grow, gives such strong advice, and listens so well. I couldn’t imagine a better leader.

Fun Fact:

Kristy is my fellow dance partner. She can pop lock and drop it like no other. I’ll let you decide if I’m joking or not. 😉 But seriously, she’s got moves up her sleeve. Watch out if you play some Lionel Richie. You will see her on the dance floor! But she doesn’t like to wear bare feet.

Community is a cool picture of God’s love. He loves us regardless of how messy our life or situation is.

We have to love each other when it’s hard, when we are tired, and when we don’t feel like it.

We are all learning to love and grow together. It’s a tough yet beautiful thing. I couldn’t imagine the race without these 6 girls.
