A Thing called Love
There is a thing called love. Love, which is a word, used everyday in every country. We have all heard it and have all said it. But God has taught me more about love on this yearlong mission trip in Asia, than I can every truly imagine. Love is an action; it is a do and a fruit that we give to those who are hungry and starving for it.
Let me tell you, we are all hungry for it in some way. A fruit so sweet and tasteful that it drives a desire in all of us to have more. God says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” Guess what? In 1 John it says, “God is Love.” God is telling us and telling me to come and taste His love for it is good. A love as the Bible says, “that surpasses all knowledge and understanding.”
I have learned that love does what is unselfish, which has led me to love people the way they want to be loved or feel loved, not the way I want to give it. For me to intentionally push them towards their goals, visions by encourage and empower them. To make them feel affirmed as a person and loved for who they are and not what they can do for me. Let us learn the heights and widths and lengths of God’s love, because then we truly will be satisfied in all things.
Here are just two ways I’m changing in mindset towards loving people with action. One, is love says, “YES”!!! Love is relentless and it goes after people. It does the crazy things that people want and like to do despite the way you feel. Two, is Love lets its yes’s be yes and its no’s be no! When you say your going to do something you stick to it. To do everything you promised or told you would with another person. Love is HONEST!
