On the airplane when I was just a few
short hours away from landing in New Zealand, I turned my ipod on and
got out my journal. I put my ipod on shuffle and Brett Younker’s
“In Control” decided to [randomly] play.
“You have calmed the oceans, you
walked upon the seas. With the hands that hold the universe, you are
holding me. And I’m trusting you to carry me, trusting in the
Almighty. You are in control. The solid rock on which I stand,
forever in your faithful hand. You are in control.”
I was reminded of these truths as I was
about to land. I was reminded that He is sovereign. He is in
control, and He has gone before me. I trust that. Psalm 9:10 says
“And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you O
Lord have not forsaken those who seek you.” Rest assured that I am
seeking Him whole-heartedly, therefore I know He will not forsake me.
