Welcome to Malaysia!

This month I am on the island of Penang in Malaysia staying with 14 other girls. For Malaysia the teams split into guys and girls to do ministry. So here I am currently in a tiny apartment building with 14 other girls…talk about community. =)
This month we are blessed with air con. AHHHH! Since the humidity is about 90% all the time it’s a beautiful thing to come home from a day of ministry into icy air. I can’t walk outside without dripping sweat. Its so odd to be sweating in December, I’m used to snow! The food here is amazing. I am in love with naan( a bread), and samosas (tiny filled spicey things.) There are also so many faces. So many cultures rolled into one. I am blessed to be staying here to serve this month. Malaysia is full of diversity with Indians, Malays and Chinese making up the population.

For ministry this month we have been helping out at a soup kitchen for the homeless called Kawan (it means friends) and the Adventist Hospital, doing whatever needs to be done from decorating to helping them fundraise. We’ve also spent some time at the Eden disability center where we helped them recycle and practice Christmas music. (Christmas is so soon!)
Some nights we go to PENHOP (Penang international house of prayer)and pray for Malaysia, or just have worship. The month has been such a hodgepodge of ministry and events but we’ve been loving it all.
