Hola queridos amigos, amigas, y familia de La Republica Dominicana!
Or…in other words…Hi dear friends and family from the Dominican Republic!
I cannot even express how excited I am to be here. God is already doing amazing things…in us, around us, through us. As I sit here in a sunny courtyard under a mango tree with my teammates, I can´t help but feel incredibly blessed and cared for by the God of the universe. Internet here is super spotty and unreliable, so I have been reading your emails and comments, and so enjoying them, but rarely ever have time to respond before the internet goes down. So have patience with me…and keep ´em comin!

Where do I begin? We´ve moved from the capital city of Santo Domingo into San Juan, which is our permanent ministry site for this month. My team is bunking with a few other teams in the central city, while the rest of our squad is split up and living in the mountain communities to the north. Life has been pretty interesting…learning about the Dominican culture, visiting homes, praying with people, sharing life. The Dominican people are incredibly warm and vibrant, and there is no doubt in any of our minds that God has amazing things in store for them, and for us as we are able to build deeper relationship with them. Already God has given us 2 new sisters in Christ!! In their words, they had just been waiting for someone to ¨push them toward God.¨ And we know that this is only the tip of the iceberg…God is constantly moving, healing, refreshing…just being able to connect in meaningful ways with the people here and meet needs has been so exciting.
Pray for our team as we work closely with Fuente de Luz (Fountain of Light), which is a church in the community of Corbano Sur. We´ve invited the community to a service tonight where we´ll be performing dramas to communicate the love of God. Please also pray for Mindre, who is an elderly woman we´ve been visiting. She is paralyzed from the waist down, and hasn´t walked for years. She is an incredibly deep and beautiful woman. We are praying for her healing.
I´ll be posting some stories and pictures soon…love love love you all.
