This is my last night at Launch–my last night in America for the next 11 months! Our N Squad leaves for Ecuador tomorrow at 3:30 PM…we don't have much more information beyond that: welcome to the World Race.
But one thing I want to do (before I'm not guaranteed internet for God knows how long) is write down the things I want out of the next 11 months. I usually don't like to say that I "want" things. Sometimes I worry that I sound kind of spoiled or selfish when I use that word; but I have been learning and better accepting that God wants to give His children good things. "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"(Matthew 7:11).
So, this is what I am asking the Lord to grant me over the course of this Race:
1. Understand more of how deeply God loves me (Matthew 17:20-26).
2. Be an encouragement and good example of a godly woman and child of God to those back home.
3. Really learn what it means to place my hope in God.
4. Love others more deeply than I have ever loved before, and bring that love home to share.
5. Experience freedom–not quite sure what I mean by that, yet…but I want it.
6. Have a more clear idea of what God wants for my future, post-Race.
7. Love God MORE!
Month 1, here I come!
