No, I did not cry at my ministry site but there was a great deal of emotion when we left and tears were shed on both sides. I have to admit I had to catch my breath and regather myself on the occasion. The reason for this I believe can only be explained by God as we were only there for 8 days and yet conveyed such a loving message that was well received. Our last day of ministry we were given baskets, cards and many words of thanksgiving not only to us but most importantly to God above. Coming into short term ministry I was curious how effective it could be but leaving our first ministry site I was blown away at how effective it was in bringing glory to God. I was able to write out a spanish prayer in order to pray over them our last day as we sang Abre mis ojos and he decidio (Open the eyes of my heart lord and I have decided). Also we were able to fix the leak in the roof, clean out a filthy water tank, and bleach and repaint the kitchen which had mold all over. All these are temporary fixes, but I believe they will remember the love of Christ we shared with them for the years to come. At least they said they would! I was able to teach basic math to them and teach them the famous english words of “good bye” and “thank you,” while they taught me spanish as well as Quiche the local language.

God is continually teaching me to listen to Him and take bigger steps of faith. As well as relying on him in the NOW and focusing on who HE has called me to be and how He would change me.

      Prayer Requests:

1. Unsung Heroes: Our ministry next month will be in Nicaragua and my team will be traveling all around, listening to where God would take us to find out new ministry sites that future teams can bless. It will be a challenging month of backpacking and uncertainty of places to sleep and go. We still are not exactly sure where we are going to start on Tuesday. So please pray for God’ guidance and his voice to be extra loud.

2. Pray that I will continue to grow in Him and for safety and wisdom in my logistical role as we rope out the long days of traveling.

3.Pray for the spiritual growth of my team!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
