Okay, so get ready for a crazy blog that’s going to be everywhere! I’m ADHD in the Holy Spirit right now and have no idea how everything in my brain is going to make it’s way to my fingers, onto this blog site and into your brains and it still make sense. So here goes nothing!

This month we are working at an Adventist Hospital helping raise funds for children to get heart surgery. On the bus ride over to the hospital the first day we went I felt like God was telling me to wear a sign that says, “Free Prayer” and pray for anyone who asked for it. I also asked Jesus to blow us out of the water by giving us RM 2,000 ($650-ish) in fundraising that day since the previous days the teams had only gotten around RM 1500.

So there I was in the pharmacy wearing my sign and holding a bucket for people to donate. I have to say I got quite a few stairs as people walked by. At first I could tell that they thought I was just a regular helper trying to raise money, but then after reading the sign they always had to do a double take of it. God gave me this cool vision of how we as the Church often times try to look like all the other religions in some way and just be nice people out in society trying to help a good cause. But this sign represented something different about us. We aren’t asking for money, we’re giving away something that was given free to us! And you know what? People aren’t use to it! – Which is awesome because people see we’re different, but sad because they don’t know that we’re different just because Christ lives in side of us.

I spent the entire day wearing that sign and offering people prayer. No one budged, but that was okay. I still got to pray for them anyway! In fact there was one time that this older gentlemen and his wife passed by. In their faces I could see they were distressed and as they walked out the door I knew I was suppose to go pray for them. I bolted out the doors and walked up to them and asked them if I could pray for them. Unfortunately they said, “no thank you”, but I prayed for them anyway as I was walking back. Next time I’ll have to remember that Jesus didn’t tell us to ask them for permission and then pray for them, rather He said go pray for them! haha

At the end of the day Mindy, my squad mate, made an announcement advertising that we were raising funds for people. I stood beside her still wearing my sign and sat back down shortly after her announcement was finished while Mindy went around collecting money. Right after I sat down I looked up and saw Mindy motioning me back over. When I approached her a little Chinese women was standing behind the wheelchair of her grandmother and smiled at me. “You pray for my grandmother?” she asked me. I smiled and asked her what she would like me to pray for. “She has a lot of pain in her back and it hurts for her to stand up.” she told me. “Awesome!” I said, “Let’s pray.” As I started to pray I placed my hand right behind her back and began to thank Jesus for miraculous healing. I then commanded the pain to get out in Jesus’ name and asked God to bless her with His love.

Once I finished praying they thanked me and I walked back over to the wall we were standing at before and started processing what had just happened. – I have been a little out of it latley do to the lack of sleep I’ve been getting and wasn’t thinking straight. – As I was processing I heard the Holy Spirit tell me, “Go tell her to stand up.” I walked back over to the ladies and asked the woman to stand up out of her wheel chair. With the assistance of her daughter she stood up and told me the pain was gone! haha PRAISE GOD!

God showed me through this experience that He loves us and loves to give us good gifts. One other thing that He did to show me this happened at the end of this day. Remember how I told you I asked God to give us RM 2000? Well He didn’t…He gave us RM 2400, which is equivalent to $800! haha! It’s SO good to be a Son and know that I can ask my Daddy for things and Him pull through far more than I ever expected!
