On one hand, India is a place that has bamboozled me. It is a place with 1/6 of the world’s population, disabled people are everywhere, and it is a place of confusion. I have been expecting this month to be the hardest yet of the race. Ever since arriving at our contact; however, God has been pouring out abundant gifts on our team and me.

First off, I received an interview at CU-Denver, my number 1 medical school. I am so grateful for this opportunity and am hoping I get accepted.

Secondly, I don’t think I could ask for anything to be better at our ministry site. We are in Bangalore, which is the 3rd largest city in India (8 million people), but we are in the outskirts of town in a residential area, where open land abounds. The weather is amazing, with cool nights and warm (but not hot) days. I joined a fitness gym that is literally a 30 second walk from our house. We live in an apartment with a living room, 3 bedrooms, and 4 bathrooms. FOUR BATHROOMS, for six people!?! And we can put the toilet paper in the toilet! We are a 10 minute walk from our ministry site, which is called Jireh House. It is an orphanage with 11 amazing children. The kids range in age from 3-16. They all speak good English. In fact, pretty much everyone here speaks English relatively fluently, which is awesome for striking up conversations and doing evangelism. Our month will consist of doing Bible studies with the kids, teaching English, and doing other activities with them. And the people who run the orphanage are incredible. They have completely invited us into their family. They have been incredibly warm and hospitable towards us. Also the food is insane. Every meal, we have delicious, spicy food with lots of protein, vegetables, and fruit.

Thirdly, things with the new team have been great so far. I keep thinking about how God orchestrated this group of 6 people long ago, before any of us were born. We have so much to learn from one another and ways we can help one another be more Christ-like.

I feel like I have been receiving double and triple portions of his blessings lately, and I am so grateful for His provision.

God is so Good! Amen.
