Child Like Worship

Oh if we could only be like babies, (children) with a child like mind to take all the child like mind of God, what wonderful things would happen." ~Smith Wigglesworth 

 

Jesus says, "You must be like these children to enter into the kingdom of God."

 

That is a bold statement, by a bold man who is saying if you do not have faith, fun, and joy like these kids you are not going to heaven. 

 

Have you ever seen a child dance? It is a wonderful sight. They don't care what anyone thinks of them. As they twirl, hop, jump, and fall they just laugh. They just dance. Today, people hardly know how to dance freely and not care what others think of them unless they have some alcohol in their system. Why!? Why is it that adults are missing out on the kingdom of God? 

 

I believe the key is to be like a child. 

 

Not in your thinking – you cannot sip on milk your whole life, you need to move onto the meat – but in the way you worship. "God is a spirit; and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth" (John 4:23-24).  Worship God in song and dance like a child. Go to the kids service and watch the joy they have on their faces. They don't care what others think. I dare you to dance like they do. Not for attention but for the simple fact that you are free. You are free, Christ has set you free, and if that doesn't make you want to jump, dance, and twirl, then you need to ask yourself what's holding you back.

My two guesses are fear of man and unforgiveness in your heart. 

 

Fear is the enemy's biggest tool. "You give power to what you fear, so fear God" ~ Kaila  DeMoss. 

I break off all fear of man in the name of Jesus.

  Mark 11:25, "When you stand in prayer, and you have any unforgiveness in your heart, forgive them so that your Heavenly Father may forgive you." Unforgiveness is a bitter seed that if planted and taking root in you will suffocate your heart slowly. It will effect all areas of your life even if you have barred it. Forgiveness leads to freedom! You have been forgiven time and time again by your Heavenly Father. Freely give what you have freely received.  

 

A child is free. They have not believed the lies from the enemy, they have not been told by someone God can't do this or that. They have a childlike faith. They believe, they believe. That is what Your Heavenly Father is calling us to walk in. A faith that believes, that actually believes what the bible says. 

 

When you worship like a child there is a joy that is released into the atmosphere that sets others free. It is how God has called us to live. 

 

Let me close with this story. I know it is dark in the picture but let me describe to you what is going on. We are in a refugee village in the jungle of Thailand, in a church made of all bamboo and dirt floors. We are worshiping as a team. The little kids come in and worship with us. As I lay on the ground, hands raised, I look over next to me and there is a little Thai boy laying next to me. With his hands raised eyes closed, singing out in praise. As I looked, tears started to fill my eyes and flow down my checks to see this little boy worshiping God with everything he had and copying me. He may not have understood what he was saying, but the power of his words changed me.  It was a beautiful night and the most powerful night of worship on the race for me so far. 

 

When you have faith like a child, you worship with your everything, no questions asked. Not caring what others think of you, just crying out to your Heavenly Father.
