A Leap of Faith

I went sky diving for the first time. From the time I stepped in the building to being in the plane ready for take off only 25 minutes had passed. It happened so fast — took 7 minutes to be at 13,000 feet.I acted like I was ready and wasn't even a little bit scared. Then doubts started to flood my mind — what if this old plane just crashes or what if this dude I'm strapped to is a lunatic and just decides to cut me loose while free-falling? There was a moment of fear I had to conquer. I knew I was going to be alright but these lies crept in.I found my self standing in the open door of the plane 13,000 ft and the pit of my stomach in my throwt. Heart racing with adrenalin! I am looking at nothing but tangible air and realize this is it. I had to fight any fear and ask Jesus to protect me. I jumped out saying "O Jesussssss!!!!" then started falling into this great adventure! After that I had the time of my life!!! Falling, laughing, slobbered a little trying to breath! It was the craziest thing I have ever done next to jumping off a 90 foot bridge into water. But this jump, my friends, was a different level. The shoot pulled and besides getting pressed and squeezed it was a nice float down to the landing — did some 360's along the way down too. Afterworlds, I was rocked and rushing with adrenaline. I wanted to do it again.

This jump is symbolic to taking a leap of faith for Jesus. Following Jesus is a leap of faith and can be scary. You're leaving your old life and walking a new one. I have lived both lives — the selfish all about me and have lived the all for Jesus life. I have discovered that if you're feeling empty or unloved that's where you'll stay until you surrender and embrace the love the father God has for you. He loves you and sees you as a good son or daughter. You are good enough to receive him now. Your Heavenly Father loves. He loves you just as you are. Receive right now, whether you been saved your whole life or never have, receive God's love, put out your hands like you are receiving a gift. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and that he may come and love you in all the places you have been hurt. (read again, take a breath and some time and allow Jesus to speak to you) It's OK if you cry tears are healing because they are salty. Just like how the oceans salt water heals wounds. It's OK to laugh with the joy of the Lord — you are loved.
This leap from a plane reminds me that the leap of faith is the best thing I have ever done in my life. I have lived on both sides, both lives and living the one all for Jesus is the most alive and free I have ever felt.
Evangelist, Billy Graham said he didn't speak with power until he realized how to be obedient to the Holy Spirit. Acts 5:35 is the verse he refers to in saying, "I will give my spirit to those who obey me."
Obeying the Holy Spirit is the voice or feeling you get in your head or stomach. It's scary to obey just like it is scary to jump out of the plane. We may get the feeling to go pray for someone or talk to someone but maybe allow fear and lies to fill our heads, saying, "That's just my own thinking or that is dumb or they won't want prayer or what will others think… " Just like the lies that crept in my head before I jumped. I had to call on Jesus and take every thought captive. And just do it! The more you are obedient to God the easier it will become for the next time he asks you to do something. Just like jumping out of the plane will be easier — next time.

Let me encourage you with this: Our Heavenly Father doesn't ask us to do something to leave us out to dry. He is going to show up! Also, I encourage you to do something so crazy that if Jesus doesn't show up you will look like a fool! Be a fool for Jesus. Go pray for someone on crunches and tell them Jesus wants to heal them because he does.
This past week a buddy and I prayed for a guy on crunches and he walked away with no crunches. We also prayed for a lady with a boot who just had surgery. She was healed no more pain and her heart was healed as well from a abusive relationship. She said, "Is this a freaken miracle?! " I said, "Yes, it was a freaken miracle!"
Step out in faith and pray for people!! Take that leap of faith and see Jesus come through!
Rest of the Pics enjoy!
