A journey like the World Race is one of those things that tend to teach you quite a bit about yourself.  I have yet to really gather all of these little lessons together since leaving, so this is my first attempt to proclaim what I now know about myself, thanks to the World Race.  Some are serious but most of them…not so much.  If you already know one of the following facts about me, then shame on you for not filling me in!

1. I can cook!  I’m excited to share my own dessert creation with everyone when I get back!
2. I actually really like man-scarves.  They’re both fashionable and extremely effective.
3. Apparently, I have Irish facial features
4. My future self will know how to play the acoustic guitar
5. I’m actually quite a fan of tea with milk… who woulda thunk, right?
6. There are very few pastries in the European world that I have the will power to refuse
7. I have the spiritual gift of preaching (still learning and growing in this one)
8. If it were possible to wear the same set of clothes for the rest of my life, I would, simply to avoid doing laundry.  You may be relieved to hear that, no, I do not think it’s possible.
9. I have a strange ability to braid shoestring into bracelets (no further comment)
10. One day, I will make another trip around the world with nothing but a backpack and an intensely awesome camera
11. Out of all the world’s toilets, I like Ireland’s the least so far (for some reason, they’ve been in a different shape everywhere we’ve gone)
12. Speaking of toilets, I now know that I have the confidence and comfort to not need a stall door or wall to separate me from other restroom visitors
13. My “W” makes it very difficult for people who speak limited English to read my hand writing (I still like it)
14. God has always been working in my life to bring me around to the plans He has for me, even when I thought I was pursuing my own plans
15. I have the ability to predict my falling out of a, thankfully stopped, pick-up truck (don’t ever speak such things over yourself… it just may come true)
16. I can drive a manual right-hand-drive vehicle better than I would’ve ever thought (it’s the part about being on the left side of the road that makes me a hazard to other drivers)
17. Being in a tent by myself relaxes me
18. My life does not, in any way, require a cell phone
19. I had WAY too much clothes before the World Race
20. I’m just as happy to have a 13 year-old tour guide through a city than I am to have a 60 year-old historical expert
21. I have the ability to run on pogo stilts (slowing down is much harder)
22. I have a desire to kill, cook and eat a chicken all by myself (Africa, here we come!)
23. I have yet to truly realize what it means to rely only on God’s love rather than the love from other people
24. I’m more like my dad than I ever realized
25. I am majorly blessed to have such amazing support from my family and friends (I think we all knew this one already)

With all of that said, I have a request from all of you.  Please give my teammate, Kameron Kissinger, the same kind of support you’ve given me.  If he doesn’t raise about $1200 by the end of the month, he’ll be heading home.  I’ve spent four months with this guy and know in my heart that he is absolutely called to be on this trip!  The end of the month is very close, so please act soon to help Kameron stay on the race.  You can read his blog and support him by clicking on his name below in the left side-bar.

I pray all the time for each one of you who is following me.  May God bless you and your family!
