I don’t know about y’all, but spreading Christ’s love is downright awkward sometimes!  I think it’s a product of the culture we’ve developed here in the US that makes us feel like it’s inappropriate to talk about what God is doing in our lives with each other.  It might be good things… might be bad… hey, it might even be confusing things that you’re not sure if they’re good or bad just yet.  Regardless, it’s still a conversation that’s interesting (to me, at least).

I know the fears–don’t think I’m ignoring them– I have them too!  He/She looks mean! (below)  What if they’re not a believer?  What if they don’t have time to talk?  What if they blow me off?  The only thing I can think to say is that sometimes, it just takes courage, which I’m guilty of lacking from time to time just like anyone else.  But also, who cares?  What’s the worst that could happen– they listen to you and know you love Jesus?  That’s kind of the point, isn’t it?

Not gonna lie… I wouldn’t go near this guy unless I was having a REALLY good day!

“Month USA” (the month at home between training camp and our launch in early July) has been very impactful for me so far.  I wanted to be bold and courageous for Jesus this month and it’s been much harder than I expected.  I’ve let go of many of the routines, values and habits I once held so tightly onto, but I’ve learned the hard way that just because I’ve let go of them doesn’t mean everyone else has as well.  That’s OK, though, because everyone is on their own journey.

What’s made things so hard sometimes is how to break the ice into the topic about Jesus when He’s on my mind.  It’s not always the complete strangers who I chicken out with!  Sometimes it’s people who I’ve cared a lot about for a long time.  I really think there’s a way to lead every conversation to Jesus, though… and without too much awkwardness… as long as God is the one on your mind!

More to come in part 2!  I didn’t want to overload you fine folks with my crazy thoughts!
