I am sorry for going so long without posting a blog. Malaysia was a difficult month for me and my team. We lived in a small building where we worked everyday. The ministry was an after school care but since it was a holiday the kids were there all day. We helped the ministry host prepare the kids for a Christmas recital, teaching them songs and instruments. I want to share a little about the month without breathing life into the spirit of negativity. It was really hard for our team to like Malaysia. The host was difficult to work with and stressed out about everything. we tried to make the most of it but it was hard for us to love the kids the way we are use to because she wanted everything done a very particular way. We did have a good month growing together as a team, and we met a lot of good  friends whom I will not forget.

The good news is we didn’t allow that month to affect us. We were able to let go of all of the negativity and hurt feelings and move on. Now we are in JAPAN!

I fell in love with Japan the moment I stepped out of the airport. Something about the Culture and traditions here mixed with the absolute beauty of this country instantly pulled me in. We were able to spend a few days together as a squad doing orientation, then we went out to our host families to begin the month.

This month we are living with host families. Our team split up into pairs and moved into the houses of people who are willing to accept us as part of their family for a month. We all seem to love our families, and I am blessed to live with the ministry host. I live with a man from New Zealand who has been a missionary here for over 20 years. He has a wife who is Japanese and three boys who are 9, 12, and 13(almost 14). Everyday I have to bike down the mountain to meet my team. 2 of us will work at a preschool everyday, while the other 5 will go out into the city and universities and try to spread the love of Christ. We will be doing a lot of following the Spirit the month, trusting in Him to guide our steps to meet the person He has prepared for us.  Please pray for our entire squad that we can follow the Spirit and impact this beautiful country. Thank you for following me and giving me the opportunity to experience all that I have experienced.
