Hey future Racer lets talk about what works and what doesn’t work in Europe so you can be a master at packing! Before you read this here are some things to keep in mind:

1. Europe was my first continent. (I can drop things at the end before Africa).

2. I was in the Balkans (Serbia/Albania/Greece).

3. The months were: September to November.

4. I’m a dude. I’ll mention some things my female teammates brought and I’ll talk about items too.

5. Warmth is all about what layers you have and how you wear your layers.

6. Pack only things you’re willing to drop.

7. Neutral colors are your friends.

So lets get started with some things that I wish I’d of brought. A crew neck sweater or quarter zip. If you go for the quarter zip then I suggest either Patagonia or Columbia. I usually don’t wear hoodies (jumpers) but my teammate reps the hoodie a lot and he’s really glad he brought his. For girls a light hoodie zip is great and can sub in for a cardigan. Boots are great too. Boots are the best. Matched with some wool socks will keep your toesies real warm. I have a pair of Clark Chukkas and the toe is falling apart. I wish I’d of brought them. A bunch of girls on my squad brought riding boots and I definitely suggest that if you’re a girl. A light cardigan was also something I wish I’d brought to go with dress shirts for church. And most of all, I wish I’d brought a fleece vest. Patagonia makes a neat one.

Somethings I’m glad I packed would be: My Eno Hammock, French press (Sea to Summit), a flannel (all day everyday), my tobacco pipe, an external hard drive, Chacos (the best), and ExOfficio boxers (aka your new best friend).
