Even though this month started out on the wrong foot with a whale of a bus ride, Tanzania ended up being my favorite African country.  The landscape here is just beautiful and although the people speak little English, they are incredibily welcoming.  Our activities of teaching computer and playing soccer made the month, although a short one, very enjoyable.  The church here in Tanzania is full of young people and very vibrant.  I seriously challenged the people here  because I believe they have incredible potential.  So here’s my favorite and yours, the Month in Review.  The top 10 experiences/moments for myself and team in Tanzania.
10.  Having Thadeus, the son of our pastor Henry, ask Carin about Kung Fu because he thought she was Japanese.

9.  Eating this incredible Jerky at most of our meals, we never discovered what form of meat it was, but it was the best meat I’ve tasted in Africa.
8.  Riding a dirt bike for the first time as one of the church members let all of us try and ride.  Unfortunately, I only made it a few hundered yards before the bike stalled out on me.
7.  Teaching typing to a few of the church members the first week and really being able to help them as 5 of the guys passed our typing exam the first saturday of the month.  Unfortunately, as our time progressed we had up to 20 people a time during class on just 5 computers so we were not able see people improve as much as they did the first week.
6.  Finding out the guys I thought were just around for a pickup soccer game were actually an official football club and hearing they wanted me to play with them.
5.  Seeing the generosity of the Tanzanian church as almost every meal we ate something given to us as a blessing from one of the church members.
4.  Taking a short 2 day vacation to Zanzibar where we snorkeled and ate various seafood at the famous outdoor market.
3.  Preaching two sermons on the Great Commission to the church.
2.  Having the chance to teach the 5 young men who passed our first typing exam Microsoft Excel, they picked up Excel much quicker than they picked up Word.
1.  Playing in my first and only African Professional soccer game, definitely the highlight of the month.
So we are done with Africa.  On December 3rd we head out to Asia.  I’m going to review our time in Africa here in a blog in a few days.  Enjoyed our time here, but certainly ready for a new continent.  Asia here we come.
