When most kids get treated to Icecream they are soo excited…they dive into the magical taste of strawberry, vanilla, or chocolate.  They usually get so into it the rest of the world is all a blur. Their face is usually a sticky mess and their clothes are usually covered in lil lip prints from them wiping off the stickiness.  But yesterday I had the chance to go with 7 orphans to “town”.  This was a privilage and doesn’t happen often.  I watched the kids in awe as we traveled through the town to get to their “market”.  The market was small only about 4 isles…but that’s all they have here in this town.  Wilfrid bought all of us our own lil container of icecream, and some cookie thing,,and I got all the kids apples and cokes.  I was amazed to see that NONE of the kids would eat their icecream…I was diggin in mine like it was nobody’s business.  I kept asking them why?…why aren’t u eating it.?  but they just smiled and said NO!  So we let them finish their cokes and cookies and left…each one of them carrying their icecream.  Later on we got back to the orphanage and all the rest of the 70 something orphans gathered around the tracker… as each child hopped out they began to open their icecream and share it with the others.. My heart  melted as I thought WOW they wanted to savor the flavor with everyone else…they aren’t  selfish…they took their icecream that they rarely get and shared it with 70something others.. How many of us would be that selfless and do that???… (as u can see I didn’t but I’m learning…and everyday on this race is a HUGE learning experience…but I will say that I did buy my team some icecream..I just didnt share my own:)
