The PVT (Parent Vision Trip) countdown is on! Parents should arrive in Thailand in less than 10 days, and it is with great anticipation that I anticipate the arrival of some of the parents of P-Squad, including my own.
I’m excited to put faces with the precious people who take the time to read my blog, comment on them, encourage me when I’m down, and tell me that they are proud when I’ve never met them face to face.
I’m excited to see a parent of a friend do something and say, “That’s why they do that!” Apples don’t fall far from trees and I believe this week will cement that into my mind.
I’m excited to share Thailand with the people who trusted God with their greatest blessings and allowed them to see the world this year.
I’m excited to hear the stories of how God grew our parents faith this year.
I’m excited to see God write stories of redemption and healing that will come as a result of this week of PVT.
I’m excited to see what advice the parents now have for other parents because they have experienced something that some parents have never been asked to do.
I’m excited to see parents of missionaries become missionaries themselves.
I’m excited to share a meal from a street vendor with the parents who taught me to never take food from a stranger.
I’m excited to have conversations with parents of people that I have grown to love a lot this year and tell them why I love their and share why I’m thankful that they shared with me this year.
I’m excited to share this experience called the World Race with people who were seemingly roped into this journey when we each signed up for the race.
I’m excited to watch my dad and mom barter with vendors, laugh at Asian T-shirts with me, experience Asian grocery stores (aka 7-11) and share the experience of PVT with them.
I’m (secretly) excited about the deodorant and candies that are in the bag the precious parents I call mine are bringing.
And I’m excited to see what God wants to teach them over their time in Thailand.
Come on Parents! We are excited to see you soon.
And with the parents comes one of our Alumni Squad Leaders as well, which makes this that much more exciting.
