One of the things about the race is that nothing is a guarantee. You might sign up for a route only for that route to totally change right before you leave for the race. Or a country of your route might change a day before you are supposed to leave to get there.

We are in the latter option this month. We are leaving this evening for a trip to La Paz, Bolivia, thinking this whole time that we would be spending month 3 of our race in Bolivia. We had a team meeting yesterday morning that changed that.

Our teams had a slight change: the boys of Kabod are spending the month doing “manistry” with the other men of P-Squad, while the ladies from Kabod as well as the four incredible ladies from Team Aslan (more on them later!) will be spending month three doing something we call Unsung Heroes.

We (the ladies of team Kabod and Aslan) have the incredible privilege of spending month three in Chile (instead of Bolivia). We are incredibly excited and so thrilled that the Lord has given us such an opportunity. Chile is a new country for the WR; we don’t have but just one person there that is aware of the World Race yet! We are going to spend the month building relationships with ministries that are already there and seeing how future World Race teams can partner with them in ministry. We are excited to see just how the Lord uses us this month. It has a great chance to look a lot different than most of our months on the World Race. I am incredibly excited to see what God is doing among the people of Chile.

My hope is to help you see their stories. To write about what God is doing among the nations is an incredible privilege that I don’t take lightly. I want you to know their stories, their faces and their names. I want you to know how you can pray specifically for them.

I have been looking forward to such a month. God is so incredibly cool that He uses us to go to the nations. I have been working through knowing His voice and this month will be an incredible chance to do that in a different way.

With that said, we will have a pretty long travel week coming up to get to Chile. Please pray for us as we travel down almost the entire length of the southern half of South America. We have a great potential that we will actually break the first record for the longest bus ride in World Race history. I don’t know what our WiFi situation will be most of the time, but as soon as we get to WiFi, I will try my best to update you on what God is doing. There will still be blogs that are posted during our travel week but I won’t personally have much access to internet until we get to a city in Chile instead of on a bus. (Know that one major philosophy for contact back in the states is that no news is good news. If you haven’t heard anything, we are okay. If something happens, it will be told what is going on. Don’t let the fear of the unknown drive you to a place of fear for our safety this month.)

I will write you another blog that will introduce you to the four members of Team “Askaban” as soon as I can so you can see their faces and know why I love all of them so much. God is good to provide me a team of 7 other incredible ladies who love Jesus and me so well. We spent the month of February with them doing ministry (along with the two guys that are on their team) so we love them already and I am excited to see what God does with us during our month in Chile!

I am excited to pave a way for the racers that will come after us.

Until He Comes,

Kristy
