John 20:11-18 (ESV)
Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. 12 And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. 13 They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” 14 Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic,“Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, “’Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” 18 Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to her.

Real talk.
Yesterday I had a rough day for the first time in awhile because of a million insignificant reasons. Some of the insignificant reasons directly related to The World Race are the logistics of my support raising and how I still have not been as proactive in raising money as I desire to be; then also the mere reality of my singleness (boo hoo). While those two reasons sound pretty pitiful, add a handful of other small things and it was just enough to call it a "bad day".
When I'm having a pity party for myself I like to think about others in my life who are suffering and probably weeping more than I was yesterday and so I thought it finally might be a good time to give this message a listen. To my surprise the message was extremely insightful, inspirationally uplifting, and so abundantly packed with truth I think everyone should give it the 43 minutes it takes whether you personally are 'weeping' or not!
The name of the message is, "Why are you weeping?" which comes from Jesus talking to Mary as recorded in John 20. The greatest point I took from this is that if we treat our lives like the tomb in which Mary is weeping at, then we will come to realize that no matter what Jesus is right there. If Jesus is so apparently and intimately involved in our lives and we truly BELIEVE that, then how much different would our lives look afterall?
