The World Race is a marathon, not a sprint. I actually hate running, so I'd rather not sprint or run a marathon; BUT, when it comes to marathons I once read:
"Running a marathon just means running 1 mile, 26 times."
It seemed like pretty good advice, so I am going to approach The World Race in the same way. Rather than getting overwhelmed by the big picture, I want to work towards impacting one nation at a time, but doing so 11 times. To take it down even one more level, if I can make a difference in the life of just ONE PERSON in each nation, I believe that it can result in impacting an entire country! I have to take it step by step, and this applies to my fundraising as well.
As of today, May 3, 2013, I have raised over $4,500 so far and I need to raise about $11,000 more by March 2014. I'm off to a GREAT start! $11,000 means raising $1000 per country.
I know that I can do it, but I can't do it alone …

Do you have a small group, a running club, a book club, a group of friends, a sorority, a fraternity, a big family, or any kind of social group? If you have 20 members and they each commit to donating $5 a month for the next 10 months, you can ADOPT A COUNTRY!!
If you only have 10 members, each member donating $10 a month will do the same thing. This is a great opportunity for organizations who are looking for a way to give back and support a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible!
Maybe you still want to help, but you don't have enough members to individually contribute from your own pockets. If this is the case, your group/organization/circle of friends can fundraise with me! All it takes is raising $1000 by March 2014 to do so! You can have a bake sale, a car wash, a garage sale … Be creative and have fun!

Once you have chosen a country, be on the lookout for the month that I will be in that country. I will dedicate a special newsletter, blog entry, and video to your support group! You will be able to see and hear directly from me how your contribution is impacting an entire nation … HOW COOL IS THAT?!!?
All it takes is $100 a month for the next 10 months!
