Asking seems like an easy concept. We ask for things every day. Directions, a glass of water, to pass the salt or use the bathroom. Asking is a part of everyday life. Yet I’ve found in my life, I have a very hard time asking for financial support. After the fire, God provided so many things for me through His beautiful people- both those I knew and complete strangers. It was a time He taught me to except the generosity of His people. However- I never learned to ask. When people asked me what I needed I hesitated or had difficultly responding.
Now God has called me to the next stage, asking others to help support the work I will be doing financially. I will be devoting the next year my life to serving His people and His kingdom. As part of this, I need to raise support for the year as I have left my job to pursue this opportunity. This means God has called me to ask and pray that people will feel called to support me.
In that spirit, will each of you please pray about joining me in my journey through supporting me financially?
God may call you to give monthly or a single amount. God may not call you to give. I only ask you as brothers and sisters in Christ to ask Him and see what He says.
