It’s the last and final month! Who knew we would actually
make it this far? We are all here physically, but spiritually and emotionally
we are CHECKED OUT!!
TIRED. OVER THE SERIOUS
CONVERSATIONS. COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS UNTIL WE DON’T HAVE TO BE AROUND THESE
PEOPLE ANYMORE. SICK OF FEEDBACK SESSIONS. FINDING EXCUSES NOT TO GO TO
MINISTRY. FRUSTRATED WITH GIVING AND GETTING NOTHING IN RETURN. LACKING
INTIMACY WITH THE LORD…. JUST SURVIVING!
This is exactly where satan wants us to be… but it is not
where we have to be!!!!
On one shoulder sits the little devil and his pitchfork. He
tells you that it’s ok to give up. It’s ok to sit in our bed and not invest in
anyone. You won’t see these people anymore so why try. He puts distractions in
your way. He tempts you with the things you thought you overcame month 6 on the
race. He does whatever it takes to keep you from building the kingdom!
“The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy…” John
10:10
On the other shoulder sits your guardian angel. This
majestic creature is rooting for you to finish strong! He is fighting for you
in the spiritual realm day after day, helping you overcome the temptations. He
lays the truth at your fingertips, hoping you will take a hold of it. He
provides the divine appointments for you to share the gospel and change
someone’s life. He encourages you to love on your teammates/ family even more
now than ever before! He gives you the strength to make it.
“… I came that they may have life and have it
abundantly.” John 10:10
Here you are… at a cross road!!! Do
you believe the lies and sit on your bucket? Or do you give it our all, leaving
nothing behind?
Honestly, I started the month in a bad place. I was tired
from not getting any sleep the past few months. I was sick of feedback
sessions. Ministry did not seem fruitful. I was ready to join the other racers
that had thrown in their towels. If I could coast through the month, then home
is just around the corner.
BUT the Lord provided exactly that I needed: a great team
time at the beginning of the month that kicked my butt but left me motivated, a
quiet place to worship him, a gym close to ministry so we could work out our
frustrations there instead of on each other, encouragement at the perfect
moment, and lots people to have fun with during our last month.
SO I sided with the Lord. I
checked my heart. I got reenergized. I’m ready to finish strong!!!
This blog goes out to all those racers in month 11. Why did you sell on your things, quit your job,
and abandon your friends and family? To sit on your bucket month 11 or to go
out with a BANG!! If you are in a funk, take time to renew your relationship
with God and ignite a new fire! Don’t just survive the race but thrive, ending
better than you thought possible!
It’s also for those racers
that are just beginning the journey. BE ON GUARD! Prepare yourself for the
spiritual attacks that are coming and don’t let it get you down. We are part of
God’s army fighting the good fight.
Thank you supporters for not
giving up on me. Thanks for fighting this journey with me. Thanks for your
prayers and encouragement at exactly the right time. Thanks for loving me. I
will be home in just a few weeks and can’t wait to sit down and tell you
everything!
