The Lord knows exactly what we need when we need it! This past
month was a month of rest, reflection, and renewal! As I hungered for more of the
Lord, he provided the exact place and perfect people to feed me!
After 9 days of travel from Tshaneni, Swaziland to Lichinga,
Mozambique, our contacts greeted us with arms wide open. When I stepped foot
out of the back of the truck (yes, two of those nine days were on a dirt road
in the back of a truck), I felt so at home. The presence of the Lord was
amongst this place, and I could feel it from the moment we arrived. There was
something different about this IRIS base, and I was hungering to get more of
it! The people in Lichinga are filled with the Spirit of the Lord, and every
aspect of their lives reflects that. Their joy overflows into every person they
meet. Their love for the Lord and others
is contagious. Their lifestyles imitate that of a true disciple of Christ. Their
words are full of wisdom from only the Lord.
My life was changed this past month. I saw what
it looked like to be still in the presence of the Lord and listen to His
whispers. I felt the love of a community that loved the Lord so much that it
was overflowing from them day in and day out. I pray that my life can reflect
this lifestyle when I get back to America! I want to be so full of the Lord
that I am constantly pouring out the fruits of the Spirit. I want to be able to
slow down and just sit in the presence of the Lord. I want others to not see KK,
but to see Christ!
