Swaziland has opened my eyes to …
·
God has His healing touch on so many. When
medications are not readily available, one has to rely on the Holy Spirit to do
his work.
·
Sickness is all around and money/doctor visit
can’t fix everything. Illnesses in America that are very common can kill people
in Africa. It’s sad to see humans lying in bed just waiting to die because they
don’t have the money to go to the doctor.
·
HIV is everywhere! More than half of the
population has HIV. It’s one thing to hear this statistic; it’s another thing
to live it out. It breaks my heart to see a child with an ear infection and go
to the doctor just to hear that’s because he probably has HIV. Or work alongside
a man for a month and the last day he goes to the doctor and finds out he has
HIV. These people are not just a number any more; they are real people that
have a name.
·
God’s plans are better than ours, but it is not
always easy to take. After praying over a baby multiple times, we went back to
the hospital to find out he had passed away.
All of these are true stories from my mission trip in
Swaziland. This place has stolen my heart. I love like I have never loved
before, my faith is stronger than ever, and my passion for this nation is
indescribable.
