Mission work is not
always glamorous, but you can make about anything fun! This month we are doing
construction almost every morning. Yes, that means that I will be building,
fixing, and digging things J
This might come as a surprise to some of you (considering I’m normally the
person that breaks things), but never fear!

Each morning is a new
adventure on the construction site. We never know what to expect, but we go
into it with an open mind, positive attitudes, and awesome construction outfits.
Here are a few of the adventures on our list so far:

Clean out and
reorganize the maintenance shed

Dig a ditch using
pick axes and shovels- this could come across as dangerous but with the correct
instruction everyone stays alive

Pick up trash- this
day was great because I got to stand in the back of a large truck all alone
(there was lots of prayer and time with God)

Insulate a house…
then tear down everything we did because the family wanted different insulation
L not the most exciting
news you can get after working hard for hours, but thankfully everyone has a
positive attitude about it

Dig another ditch- I
have to say this is actually fun… lots of jokes, seeing results immediately, and
getting dirty (thank goodness for a HOT shower at the end of the day)

Along with hard work
come great conversations. Who knew how well you could get to know someone while
digging a ditch? We play the question game often (even though Vinny isn’t a big
fan). Most questions are silly- “if you could have any pet what would it be and
why?” but others get deeper to the core “what’s your biggest fear?” or “what is
God teaching you at the moment?” I’ve loved getting to know each person and
hear about their life!
