There is no price we
can put on life, happiness, satisfaction, or joy! Christ has already paid the
ultimate price. Those that live a life of sexual slavery do not feel the same.
Instead they feel:

Lied to

Most of the time,
people lie to them to get them in the brothel. They think they are getting away
from a hard life when they are actually getting tossed into something far
worse.

Abandon

They have no family
or friends. All they can cling to is the numerous men that come in and out of
their lives each night.

Worthless

There is no meaning
to life. All they know is life within the concrete walls of the brothel. All
they hear is the lies of their owner. Who would ever want anything to do with
them in the real world?

Hurt

They are forced to do
things they don’t want to do. When they say “no”, punishment comes tenfold. Each
morning they wake up wishing for something to sooth the pain, but there is
nothing. They have bruises on their bodies that are accompanied by a broken
heart.

Voiceless

No amount of words
can ever bring them freedom.

Hopeless

Who would ever want
me now? They hold on to the sins of their past and think there is no way they
will ever be loved by another. They see themselves dying in this place, because
who would want to save something that is unclean.

After working
alongside six women sold to slavery and reading Sold by Patricia McCormick, my heart breaks for the women that
enter into this lifestyle. Most of them have no choice and quickly fall into
the disillusion that this is the only way to live. They believe they must work
hard every night to pay off their debt to their boss when really there is no
light at the end of the tunnel.

There are millions of
women all over the world caught in this lifestyle. India is the top country for
sexual slavery. Surprisingly, America falls second in the list. This statistic
cuts to my core. I want these women to know there is life outside the concrete
walls, their Savior has already paid their debt, and they are loved despite
their past.
