“Advanced good
morning”
The past ten days, my team and I have been in a village in
the rural parts of India. ICM wanted our team to be the pioneers to a specific
district in India. My team was excited when we got the assignment, but we had
no idea what we were getting ourselves into.
Our first adventure was THE TRAIN! I’m sure just riding a
train from one location to another is not hard, but getting eight people, 16
back packs, and lots of food all on the right cart in one minute and
fourteen seconds can be quite a sight to see. Let’s just say we lost a few
items on the quest to our seats, but everyone made it and we learned a few
lessons for next time J
After two train rides and a long taxi extravaganza, we
arrived at our new home. It was a concrete church with no running water,
limited electricity, a squatty potty, and lots of curious people! Our living
conditions definitely decreased from our last home, but we were more than ready
to start “roughing it.” After all, this is what we signed up for…. Right?
Our ministry was to go to a new village each night and lead
a “gospel meeting.” This just meant we would go hut to hut and pray for
certain families, next do a small children’s program with singing and dancing,
then share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to many that have never heard. This type
of ministry has its ups and down. We enjoyed pouring life into so many people,
but it was hard to just share the gospel and leave. Luckily, each village had a
Christian leader that could continue to follow up with new believers and those
that are curious. We did get to witness some lives changed in our short time
there!
Thanks for the continued prayer and support!
